The tuna can you see in there doesnt actually rotate.  Inside it is a disk
with a couple rubber wipers.  From what I can gather its actually an
electrostatic unit, but not much info is available.

Make sure it stays full of oil.  If not the shaft will seize up and then you 
have to take it fully apart to free it up.  Then insert my previous rant
about finding oil for it...
