Hi,
I've also wondered why synth manufacturers never implemented a dual signal
path in their synths. I guess cost is the main reason, but it still seems
that there's be more than a few analogues out there with this feature.
I know the Xpander and Matrix 12 synths allow independent (and pannable)
voice operation in multimode, but I can't think of any others. Maxi Korg
possibly?
If cost was the main reason for not doing this in the commercial analogue
synth world, would the same apply to digital synths? The Korg Prophecy is one
synth that I've missed this feature the most on. This synth pretty much leads
a dual life (oscs, filters, waveshapers, multiple mod sources) until the
mixer stage, where the signal output is mono. Ironically, it's then fed to a
mono in - stereo out effects section. (doh!!)
