[sdiy] Matched Trannys for linear V->I?

Are there any devices which would make creating a linear voltage to current 
converter easier?  I'm thinking something like a matched pair of transistors 
who are wired for a linear converter (i.e. the IC has 4 pins and contains 
two matched pnps with emitter 1 connected to base 2).
