There are 2 versions, desktop and rack mount.
The stock circuitry is identical, but the desktop has
a full enclosure, the rack has only the front panel
and mounted PCB. Personally, I prefer the rack (I have 2)
because the desktop is pretty much packed already.
If you plan to do mods, the rack is better (the more mods
you do). Both of my FatMan synths have at least one extra
panel (started with a blank etc). I 'ruggedized' one
if mine by scrounging a fiberglass case (19inch) from
a junk yard. I used small cabinet hinges to mount it.
The other one has metal 'feet' that I built so that
it free stands. Both of these methods allow me to add
a whole lot of extra stuff, PCBs and power supplies.
