    Depends on how big the object is.  If you have a floor drill press (my father
has one), you can fit an object that is four feet high under the quill.
Obviously, a bench type drill press you cannot do this with.

    The main size problem I have with drill presses is the distance from the
center of the quill to the post that that supports the head.  I found out when I
was drilling a 21" x 19" rack pannel, that I could not reach the holes in the
center.  Ended up having to use a hand held drill to get those.
