Ok edward (ye asked for it...)

I say the EFM stuff sounds excellent. Most of the modules are clones of parts
of classic synth designs... The VCO 3 and 4 are really good, the VCF 2
is a Moog ladder, very nice... my favorite. The VCF 6 (diode ladder) sounds like
a more mellow version of the Moog filter... I'd suggest it if you want a more 'acoustic' sound. The VCF1 is my next favorite... I've moddied my mine
quite a bit to make it
what I want.
The VCF12 is a nice clone of the Korg Delta filter... its a Sallen Key design which
resonates in an unusual fashion... the resonance starts at the zero cross of the wave, rather than the peak. Good for over-the-edge synth sounds (too
crazy for my taste)
the VCF8 is a Korg MS-20 clone... its like the VCF12 on acid ! This one is way
crazy (excellent if crazy is what you want). I think of touch tone phone sonorities...
almost more like oscillators in sync...

The VCA 5 and 6 do a nice job....

I have a synth for running with a theremin... It has a VCO3, and VCF2e, and the LFO5 in a single rack mount case. I drive it with a PV-1 pitch to
voltage converter...
run into a Wiard MiniWave (now blacet...) as a quantizer. Its excellent in sound and stability (from cold truck to warm gig without retuning at all...
usually no retuning even at the next gig)

Some people have a hard time building these modules. If you need your hand held at each step... don't go there. If you can read the schematics and
assemble... you should be OK. Many people can help online with troubleshooting... a lot of these modules have been built.

I did not buy ANY kits... just the PCB so that is what my comments are based on.

H^) harry

(disclaimer.. I am the pimp of the PV-1 pitch to voltage converter, based on the Etherwave P/V converter design by Bob Moog, used with his permission)
