The LM13700 has NOT been discontinued. The LM13700A HAS been discontinued
as has the LM13600. Perhaps this is the source of confusion for RAP and others.
The LM13700A was the tighter tolerance part, so knowing how National works, 
they
have probably decided it is not worth screening the parts to ensure they 
meet the
tighter tolerances even if most LM13700s do meet LM13700A specs.
