Right. You can make a reverse log *potentiometer* (sort of), but
not a reverse log variable resistor.

I have a Tascam mixer with effect sends that have zero in the center
(turning cw is pre fader send, ccw is post fader send). Then one day
I was asked to do live mixing in our church ("you have a studio at
home?!") and they have a Behringer with ordinary Send pots. You
can imagine what my first reaction was when I wanted to reduce
a monitor level: Turn the knob to center position. Knowing in your
head that this is wrong doesn't help - your fingers "know" differently,
and they are always faster.
