>Does putting a resistor across one side of a linear B pot give a
reverse log?
Contrary to what the Ampage site says, this is impossible. You CAN
create log from lin, but not reverse log. Although a parallel resistor
will reduce the overall resistance of the track, it affect on the total
resistance is only great when then the tracks resistance is high. As you
turn the pot, the rate of resistance change gets less not more.
I vote for starting a trend of pots that work backwards... who says we
need to have the highest gain at the CW end. But I can see it now... the
microphone starts to feedback, and the panic sets in, you turn the knob,
and it gets worse... much worse.
Actually Omeg in the UK will make you reverse log pots, but it does get
a little costly with minimum orders. I had a load of 47KC pots made for
my MultiLadder filter and Noise module and they weren't exactly cheap.
But they are affordable, 2UKP each, if you buy a 100 or so.
