These are the Agnus (interrupt, register and RAM control), Denise
(display control) and Paula (audio, floppy, serial) chipset from the
Amiga 1000. Think of them as one chip that couldn't be made due to
technology limitations at the time. You aren't going to really be able to
use Paula by itself, as all the DMA control and register addressing for
the chip come from the Agnus chip. I suppose glue logic to do enough
Agnus-like support of Paula is possible, but probably not worth the
trouble.
The 8520s are similar to 6522 PIA chips, but they're different in terms
of interrupt control and internal timers. CBM used them quickly (and
somewhat crudely) to finish the Amiga design. They are often called the
"fuses of the Amiga" as they are the first things to fail if I/O
connectors are attached/disconnected while the machine was powered up.
