Thanks for the "retro labeling" tips. I'll probably go with dymo or
typewriter-on-paper-with-tape-on-top. Maybe use kapton tape
for that aged yellow look. I have just the bad old typewriter for
the job. Engraved labels would be great,
but I think I want a cheesy homemade look for this.
And I'm forwarding the following. I thought I did. But I see I didn't.
So now I am. Sorry for the delay Rich.

I have a couple of 5 watt single ended valve amps (with transformer coupled
balanced inputs!) made by the BBC in the early sixties....... for labeling
the ins/outs and controls they use tiny black/white/black plastic plates
with engraved legends on them. held in place with tiny wee countersunk
screws. the screw heads all line up in the same direction, too..... i wish i
had the time and patience do do that with every project i made......

p.s Toby... can you do me a favour if this email reaches you and post it on
to the list for me?... every post ive ever tried to make to the list in 1
year of subscribing has bounced back to me with a dns error.... maybe if
anyone has experienced anything like this before and knows any possible
answers to my problem? we have a problem with reverse dns lookups for our
domain, i dont know if the s-diy mail server has a hang up about
this.........:o(
