Configuring QTRgui

First, select the printer you will be using from the Printer drop-down. Next you need to select the Printing Model for your printer from it's drop down list. The printing model tells QuadToneRIP how to handle printing images on your printer. It also selects the list of curves that go with that printer.

QTRgui has several options that you can change from the Tools/Options menu.

The Auto Orient Page can be used to change the page orientation to match the orientation of the image you intend to print. With this option checked, QTRgui will automatically switch the page orientation between Landscape and Portrait before printing an image.

QTRgui will normally check for updates from the QTRgui and QuadToneRIP WEB pages. Uncheck the Auto Update Check option from the Tools/Options menu to disable this check. Notice of an update is displayed in the status bar at the bottom of the QTRgui window.

QTRgui provides support for custom curve creating by enabling the Calibration mode in QuadToneRIP. Select the Calibration mode option from the Tools/Options menu. This will enable you to print the InkSeparations.tiff image passing the RGB values to the printer rather than printing in gray scale.

The Debug option will cause QTRgui to show Command windows for the QuadToneRIP application. No output is shown in these windows. The option is useful only to assure you that the applications start and terminate normally.

The Drag-Drop Auto Print option suppresses warning messages about image size and position allowing you to automatically print these images.

The Dynamic Rolldown option enables the automatic roll-down and roll-up of the Printer, Curve Setup, and Advanced adjustments controls.

The No Warnings option suppresses warning messages about image size and position allowing you to automatically print these images.

The program maintains a list of the last five images you have printed. (Not counting images printed by monitoring folders.) You can change the number of images QTRgui remembers by the Recent File Count menu. This menu will give you a spin dialog to change the count of remembered files.
