Using an Assign Knob for Data Entry

Ever try to adjust the Delay Time parameters using the Parameter value [UP/DOWN] switch? I think most users would agree this can be pretty tedious on the AN1x (there's no 'Alpha' wheel like the old Roland Alpha Juno's.)

Here's a shortcut to speed up data entry:

  1. Make certain the MIDI Out of your clock source is connected to the MIDI In port of your AN1x.
  2. Use the Edit Rotary switch to choose the UTILITY/SETUP Menu.
  3. Use the Parameter value [UP/DOWN] switch underneath the Ctrl Device to scroll through the available options - chose an Assign Knob of your preference (1 - 8).
  4. Use the Parameter value [UP/DOWN] switch underneath the Ctrl No. menu item to scroll to the second to last option - Data Entry. The display should read "Data Entry Knob x".

The Assign Knob you selected may now you be used for Data Entry of any value (so long as the Knob Parameter Group 'Assign' LED is active.)
