hello all,
i'd be more interested if the spacing was make for MTA 156 (ala MOTM)
i just bought a set of MOTM 960s cos you just can't build your own out of
stripboard - whereas you can with 0.1" MTAs
also, if you put three lines instead of two then you can also use it as a
midi buss

but more importantly - WHAT's THIS FILTREX !!?!?!

Oddly enough, the spacing is 0.156 inches. Even MORE remarkable, the spacing
on MTA-100 is 0.100. Go figure!

OK Paul B, I was beginning to wonder "what the hell?" and, how did I miss
that first post with all the rest of the text you snipped from. Then, it
hit me broadside, the quote is from another list [oakley-synths]. Heck, I
didn't even know such a list existed. So, I now see I am missing out on
what's going on in Oakley land. And, I thought it was just quiet over
there. Sigh....

On MTA connectors, I agree that the 156's are much better. I got some
MTA-100s for power connections for small protoboard they seems a bit flimsy.
On the other hand, it does provide a format different than the power
connector. Now, if I just had the rest of the text from the message below,
I might actually know what I was talking about..... Not! <snicker>

You are all confused. The original post talked about .156 connectors
(MOTM and Oakley standard for POWER connections, and additional .100
connectors for bussing KBD and GATE signals.

Naw, oh master of stooges. I did realize that. My comment that 100s were
different was meant as the positive side of 100s being used so that well
meaning but sometimes misguided stooges would never cross plug :) I
commented that I had some experience with 100s because they are handy of you
are using generic protoboard for messing around. Now every stooge project
is worthy of a $25 MOTM protoboard. :)

hello all,
it's not as quiet as i'd hoped - racist bastards blew up a curry house in
rotherham (the next town along) at four this morning, the blast also took
out the pizza house next door, and damaged nearby buildings including a pub
(so says my assistant who lives round the corner)
i really hope this shit isn't kicking off elseware too...

meanwhile - we have learnt though that paul schreiber is a lurker on the
oakley list :-)

cheers

0.156 is an ANCIENT USA standard based on the STB-44 bus from the mid-70's.
I have NO IDEA
where they came up with that spacing. Some military left over from the 60's
probably.
