MOTM-000-A1?

MOTM-000-A1?

2001-05-25 by John Speth

Hi-

I have a prototype module I'd like to build into an MOTM form factor. Pauls sells the MOTM-000-A1 which is basically a complete MOTM breadboard foundation minus the panel. It even includes hardware and a PCB bracket for mounting to the front panel. Together with a blank panel that Paul also sells, you have all you'd need to build onto for a custom module with one bothersome missing detail. (!!!) The blank panel doesn't have any mounting studs where you'd connect the PCB bracket. (!!!)

Has anyone found a good and reliable way to attach mounting studs to blank panels for mounting to MOTM PCB brackets? (Epoxy perhaps?) I'd hate to drill holes for screws whose heads are visible from the user side.

Fageddaboutit. The studs are press fitted by an enormous 2 ton press
or something.

Fortunately, Larry Hendry has solved your problem already. For our
custom MOTM panels, we recommend his universal mounting bracket.
Here's a page on my site, with a link to Larry's as well.

As long as you have some pots in the standard mounting locations,
this will work great for your application also. To mount the standard
MOTM protoboard, Larry's short bracket will work fine.

MOTM-000-A1?Thanks for the plug Moe. Yes John. In fact, the short version
of this bracket was exactly sized to fit the standard MOTM protoboard. The
only thing that has slightly changed since the first version of the brackets
I sold is that the new ones are now $4 BUT, are made of stainless steel and
do not require painting.
Let me know if you want to order any. They are in stock.
