Where in Italy are you then? There are many experienced techs around 
there too. And otherwise shipping to and from Thierry shouldn't be too 
stiff if he can and wants to help.

But an ohm-meter to check if there is contact all the way is a good way 
to start. That takes time, but is easy even if you're unexperienced with 
one of those from the start.
