Are there default values for the each of these settings in QTRGUI? Are the defaults curve specific? In any case, how can one find out what the defaults are? Thanks much. Scott

And in the downloaded profiles I've looked at, the gamma is always one. Ed

The default curves are "none". When you start QTRgui for the first time, all controls are set to the defaults. After that, it remembers the last settings. -Stephen www.sbillard.org/Stephen

Well, I was wondering what the "default" settings might be for Ink Limit and Gamma Adjustment. Not what "default" curves might be. Scott Stephen Billard wrote:

Hi... I think I misunderstood your first question. I thought you wanted to know the default ink limits and gamma for building new curves. For printing, the default gamma seems to be 1, and the ink limit is 0. As Stephen said in the previous post, when you first start up QTR, those are the values you get. There's some information in some of the QTR read-me's about what changes to the ink limits and gamma will do. The gamma is pretty self-explanatory. As for the ink-limit: most of the profiles were made at 1440 dpi. If you want to print at 2880 dpi, Roy advises that an ink limit of -45% be applied to the 1440 dpi curve. A few of the new curves were made at 2880 dpi (these have 2880 in their name) and they should print (at least for starters) at 0 ink limit. Ed
