Nemo, It's my understanding that there is no way to make the current version of OPM (or the most recent beta version) connect to the printer via ethernet. There was some discussion on the IJC/OPM message board (http://www.bowhaus.com/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl?b=003) about this feature possibly coming in a future version, but I haven't heard of any timeline. I'm pretty sure Joe and crew went that route because of the added complexity of network printers. Direct connections between the computer and printer are MUCH easier to code than network printing. At K2 Press we drive our Cone K7 ink printers with IJC/OPM. After some testing last year between IJC/OPM and QTR we decided on IJC/OPM for a number of reasons. One important reason is user interface. I just finished building a profile from the ground up for the new K7 split tones on for a 7600. It only took a couple of days of work, but I spent several weeks last fall learning the tool on a 2200. The process used to limit inks, and build curves is more straight forward to me and closely matches the process we use to build custom environments and profiles with our color printing RIP, ColorBurst. QTR is an excellent tool and you cannot bet the price. It also can drive the printers via ethernet. For anyone that wants to get printing quickly with the K7 inks it's the route I recommend. If one is willing to put in the time with IJC/OPM learning to exploit the control it enables, the results are worth it... IMHO.
