Re: Museo Max and 1800 or 2400

2006-03-02 by how786

Dear Ginny,

 Thanks for asking.
No, I've not resolved the issue with Crane. I am very unhappy with the
way their rep, David Williams, has handled the matter. To make a long
story short, the batch of Max I have jammed both my 1800 and 2400
printers with either a front or rear load even with paper setting at
'thick'. Altho the specs say it should be slightly thicker than VFA,
my batch is WAY thicker and as stiff as cardboard. I brought the paper
over to a friend and it jammed in his 2400 as well. (The paper is
8.5X11, btw purchased from Digital Art Supplies.)
I phone Digital Art and reported the problem. I asked them to take
back the paper and send me an equivalent amount of Museo II which has
always worked well for me. They said they could not do so without the
approval of David Williams from Crane. I called Crane who put me in
touch with David Williams, their Museo support person. He asked me to
send a few sheets of paper from the box which I did 2 weeks ago.
He has yet to 'test' or even look at the paper. I've yet to receive
permission to exchange the $40 box of paper. (I wasn't even asking for
a refund, merely an exchange)
The way this matter has been handled by both Digital Art and Crane
has been most upsetting to me. I've never had such an issue getting
defective product exchanged especially when it involves a small
amount of money..
There is more that I could say, but this is where things stand, in a
nutshell. I'm about to 'escalate' the matter and pursue other options.
Again, thanks for your concern. I'm sorry to hear that you have a
similar issue. They probably have a bad batch of product out there.
Good luck getting a refund or exchange.

Best Regards
Howard
