The MIS inks for the 2400 are wonderful. I use the refillable spongeless
cartridges. The black and white prints are exceptional as well as the color. I
feel this is the best solution today, as the inks can easily be swapped out. It
took me a couple of refills before I could refill the cartridge without getting
any ink on my hands. I started with a continuous ink system on a 2200. The
system worked well for about two years. I print a lot, so this was many prints.
Eventually, the cartridges developed a clog that I couldn't fix. I still think
the CIS system was cost effective, based on the number of prints that were
made. The problem with continuous ink systems is swapping to different inks is
pretty much out of the question. That's the advantage of the refillable
cartridges. With this set-up, one has the ability to make great glossy, matte, or
black and white prints all with one printer and one set of inks.
