Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

I am looking at using a pintech concertcast mesh head pad for a snare.
The question is.... is the pintech dual zone pad, stereo or a real 
dual zone? If dual zone I guess I would have to use the 9/10 input. I 
would like to know before I purchase I may decide to just get a 
single zone so I could at least have one more pad input for something 
else.

Real dual zone (two piezos).

The ConcertCast snare is a true dual zone, one zone of which (snare) 
you could plug into input 2, and the other (rim) into 9/10, leaving 
you one mono input free (10). I posted a review of the triggering 
system that Pintech currently uses on all its single and dual-zone 
drums; a slightly more elaborate version appears on the Yahoo Pintech 
forum (and maybe Pintech's own site somewhere by now). It discusses 
the triggers from the inside out. It isn't terribly complicated, but 
it should make clear how a dual-zone pad, vs a rubber Yamaha/Pintech/ 
Roland stereo one, is constructed.
