Hi guys,

Looking at the custom chip auctions on eBay at the moment, one can get
a little worried I suppose. Just how likely is it that one of these
∗no longer available∗ chips will die. Or is this seller trying to use
scare tactics to get bids? I am getting to a stage where I am almost
scared of turning her on in case I have a problem. And if a rare chip
does die, does that mean the end? I've had no problems at all but am
thinking of the worst case scenario.

Also would servicing the PSU and replacing the electrolytic caps help
insure against this?
