Here’s the instructions I used when I replaced one several years ago. Worked great.

There is nothing very special you need to do the ribbon spring.
First remove the Flock or felt covering. Remove the end tags from each end from the old spring to leave the hole exsposed in the tag for the new spring. Bend the each end of the spring (use the old as a template) was and insert the old tags and solder into place. Place in the ribbon caseing and rescrew the two halves back together starting one end and working your way across to the other end. Do not screw tight untill all the screws are back in and you are happy with the position of the spring. Put a curcuit tester on each end and test the action of the spring by pressing here and there along it's length (do not slide you finger along it). Once happy with that, replace the Flock covering and glue in place useing a contact adhesive.

Hi Marteen,

I also need to replace the ribbon spring which I bought some time ago. Are there any videos out there showing the procedure?

Thanks
John
