Subject: Re: [yamahacs80] CS50 go-through update

Hi Matt.

The first two issues are probably alignment issues (VCA and Envelope). I'd
go through a full calibration before I start changing stuff.
C# ping is odd, but if it's just happening on start up it may be nothing to
worry about.
These machines (according to the manual) take 20-30 seconds from switch on
to settle to a playable state.
Is the Hum a 60hz kind of hum?
Could be you have a loose earth connection somewhere.

Dead presets is very odd, as they're all set by passive means. Check the
preset boards just in case someone has depopulated them, or wires have come
off.

Small green caps should be OK. Problem caps are tantalums and
electrolytics. I don't think the green caps are either of these, but I'd
need to double check the service manual. That's not to say other types
don't go wrong. They can, but it's unusual.
