The DK40 is fairly early and very much mostly 'just an organ' rather than a
polysynth in organ's clothes. It's almost all discrete (i.e., transistors)
inside with the exception of (1) the dividers for the tone generator and (2)
the amp that drives the reverb spring.

Even the keyboard solo synth actually derives its tones from the organ
dividers (came as quite a surprise when I found ∗that∗ in the service
manual). So about the only 'synthy' thing about it would be the separate
'portamento' manual (ribbon controller to the left of the solo-synth keys),
and that's pretty basic.



That said, I've always wanted to try the DK40, but have never managed to be
in the right place at the right time.
