The only one I ever found David was also on the M board - VR18 is labelled "VR8" ... so there are actually two VR8's marked on the circuit diagram.
The REAL VR8 is the one connected to pin6 of IC10(IGoo156)
VR18 however, is the one which has it's wiper connnected (via a 470K resistor) to pin3 of IC1(IG00151)
By the way - does anyone know that answer to my question about the IG00152 and IG00159? Basically they are the same IC - but the IG00152 uses an extra pin (pin14). Obviously the 159 wouldn't work in place of a 152 - but vice-versa?
Could you actually use a 152 in place of a 159 (just not utilizing the extra function?)
If so, why didn't Yamaha just use IG00152's throughout?
Cheers,
TOM
