Well put, Rob, What goes up, must come down.

What worries me is that my CS would be impossible for me to replace in case something breaks irredeemably... I had mine overhauled by a Dutch CS80 expert, and still it´s not up to 100%. 90% is still a lot, though ;-).

You cant put a price on an 80... until it brakes that is and you cant get
the chips you need to fix it... its worth thinking about that...
Personally, i paid 2100 USD for mine, plus 1K on restoration (hiya kent)
I also had 3x 60s (all with issues) that i bought cheap for parts machines
and I think my 80 has paid for itself, after selling 2/3 of all the boards
from the 60s.. I certainly havent got a lot of money in my 80 so to speak,
so if there comes a day i cant get it fixed, ill be gutted, but i wont be
really badly out of pocket, i feel bad for those folks who are paying 5K
upwards, if they go down, thats a lot of money down the pan... sorry
correction... we are up to about 6-7K in the UK now iirc?
I still have 4 voice cards, 3x trg boards and most of the other ones kicking
around, as and when.. Did have 18 voice cards.. Ebay made me part with 14 of
them..
Still the 80 is a special keyboard, ive got mine setup now and have been
spending quite some time playing with it..
Those front panel controls for the presets have a real sweet spot, it took
me quite a while to get it how i wanted it. But its such a beautiful sound..
Mine still has one vco which is slightly out, a semitone or so, sometimes it
seems to come right into tune, other times not.. I think it needs replacing
(hi again Kent)
Just need a decent polyaftertouch keyboard that Midiboard is to big and ugly
for me.. Im using an Andromeda for my master keyboard at the moment, even
though it only has mono aftertouch, its a nice action..

I recon the prices will hit a ceiling at some point, dont know what that
price will be, but i recon, maybe 7K... Cant see anyone paying more than
that, thats a serious wedge of cash, but i guess collectors with deep
pockets will pay whatever they can afford..

Cheers,
Rob.
