I really wish I had a CS-80 with the GX-1 filter.
Actually I really wish I had a CS-80 or any kind of polyphonic Yamaha CS,
but you get the general idea :)
I think in terms of programming the CS-80 beats the GX-1 any day, but the
GX-1 does have a warmer filter. That said, it shouldn't be too hard to
modify the filter structure of the CS-80 for some different sounds (if
anyone dares modify their CS!)
Instead of using the HP and LP modes of the two filter chips per channel
voice, both LP modes could be used instead. Depending on the spacing of the
cutoff frequencies, you would have a region of 12dB cutoff slope and a
region of 24dB, both with resonance peaks of course.
