Hi Guys,
New member here. I don't have a cs-80, but I just picked up a 50 and a 60
for a nice price, because they each have a few issues. Nothing big as it
turned out, so I'm quite happy with that. I hope it's ok to ask a few
technical questions here; there aren't any groups for the 80's little
brothers but I know that most of their insides are alike :)
The 50 was considered dead, but it's actually very much alive; the only
thing is that one voiceboard is out of whack. It sounds different (as if the
filter starts off more open and may even has more range than the rest) and
the filter envelope on that one is also way off ( waaay too slow).
I've seen the service guides and I've been toying with it, but I don't want
to break anything, so if anyone has some good tips on how to get that card
back into shape, I'd love to hear it although I'm sure at one point I'll
have to drag it to a specialist. :) I'd love to learn to do it myself
though.
The 60 is in good working order, except for the ribbon controller. The
spring which sits in the ribbon was broken, thankfully near the non wirded
end.
I've fixed that, but the spring has a few kinks in it. Anyone experienced
with reseating a kinked spring? Or are these springs still available
somewhere? I can seat it as it is, and then it works, but it will end up
with a few little gaps where the kinks are.
Oh, one more thing, the little lightbulb used for the aftertouch, are those
still available somewhere? The one on the 60 was dead, so I changed it with
the one from the 50, but I want 'm both to work :)
Thanks :)
Jeroen
