Yup. Went in again over the weekend. Checked continutity from all
traces coming from ICs 30 and 31, plus the processor. Checked
continuity on all traces coming from the connectors at the top of the
board.
I found one instance where wires were touching near the solder
points. Put another set of fresh chips in the IC 30 and 31 slots. I
removed a few jumps I did at the beginning of this series of looks at
367.
Before this round, I had most of the patch memory working again but
still had some odd behavior with the knobs. After this round, the
patch memory system is on the fritz again.
Ugh. I want to keep her and am considering one of Crow's new boards
(if he is still making them), but I'm weighing my cost versus
options. I keep thinking MIDI would be nice seeing as I have a child
on the way and will do most of my work in sequencers for a while.
MIDI, of course, is an expensive "option" for the Polysix.
