Subject: AW: [PolySix] Legacy Poly6 VSTi vs the Real Thing

I never compared the legacy with the original one, but i compared 2 polysix
synth's.

Both are slightly different too.

I had an older version with the old voice board and this version had a very
different LFO speed range compared

To one with the newer voice board.

Betreff: [PolySix] Legacy Poly6 VSTi vs the Real Thing

Hi,

I just got the chance to compare the Legacy Poly6 VSTi to the
original synth. I listened to a few different programs, using about
the same settings on both synths. I was a bit surprised to hear that
the VSTi sounded quite a lot different than the original and even, I
thought, a lot better (bigger and more distinct sounds).

I started tweaking the VSTi to make it sound more like the original
and found that the major difference in sound came from the "unison
spread" stereo feature on the softsynth. In mono (and with a little
EQ tweaking), the VSTi actually sounded quite like the original.

I'm no synthesizer expert myself. Have you also compared the two?
It'd be very interesting to hear what other differences can be found.

/Peter
