Subject: Poly Six emulation with MS2000B?

Hello all,

I'm curious as to the ability of the MS2000B to emulate a Korg Poly
Six. I was able to download the patch charts from this group. I then
dusted off my old P6 and tried programming one of the patches into my
MS2000B. I seemed to be making some headway as far as getting the
sounds to match slightly, but I quickly found that my P6 was very
unstable and out of tune. It has the battery leak problem and is way
out of factory spec. The patch select buttons don't always work. I've
already investigated repairing it, so that's another issue. But if I
continue programming these patches I'll have nothing to reference them
against since my P6 is so flaky. What I'd like to do is have a
complete bank of the original patches, along with any other classics I
can dig up, and maybe store them on the PC with Patch Buddy.

Obviously some of the controls are different on the two synths, so I'm
curious whether the P6 is capable of doing things the MS2000 cannot. I
have an interest in the Legacy plugins, but would have to upgrade my
PC to run it, in addition to spending $500 for the program. Am I
wasting my time or am I onto something constructive, viable and
perhaps useful? Please share your thoughts. Thanks.
