Subject: Re: [PolySix] Poly 61 in troubles....

From: Johannes Hausensteiner <jo.synth@crossnet.at>

Hi,

The CPU board is a safe bet ...
I would check the following (in this order):
1) Power supply. There is an adjustment/check procedure given in the
service manual. Do this.
2) Reset circuit of IC30.
3) CPU activity e.g. on ALE (pin11 of IC30).
4) Continuity of PCB traces around the NiCd battery. Electrically +
optically. I bet that they used the same brand and make as in the
Polysix...
5) Check for good voltage levels on CPU data/port lines (ca. 0V /
ca +5V, nothing in between).

In my copy of the schematics there are a few components around the
RST circuitry changed or eliminated manually. Do you have this?
(R145, D12, C53 (or is it C55, C33 ? - cannot read it...) are striked
through; R146 is 2K2)

Do you have access to an oscilloscope?
Where are you located?

Good luck,

Johannes
