Seeing as many of the recent posts have been repair oriented, I just wanted to say that after 7 months (my tech was VERY busy) I got my Polysix back and she works great.
Besides replacing a bad switch (Bank B button) and diagnostics, the serial data trace on the CPU was repaired and the unit was tuned. She's in great shape.
Considering after 22 years the Poly has only had about $300 of repair work (including replacing the battery and not counting the MIDI upgrade), I'd say they don't make 'em like that anymore. Consider this: my MS2000 was only 3 years old before the board went up. Replacement cost $275 plus labor. That would end up being probably close to $500 for a synth I paid $750 for only 3 years earlier. Not good.
I must write a letter to Korg.
Thanks to the Old Crow and everyone else who has contributed technical info. It helped my tech greatly.
