1. the SIL resistor pack R17 was mounted BACKWARDS (!) - I didn't even know that was possible to mount it backwards... learn something new every day!!
2. R75 and R83 were the wrong value - very slightly off (i.e. 22.5K vs 22K) . hmmmm...
3. "problem with the MG was caused by IC21 having a dead current to voltage buffer" - so he swapped the LM13600...
apparently that was about it... it would probably have taken me around 100 years to find number one even... so I think i really did the right thing sending it off to him to look at. Thanks to Andrew - and another big heartfelt thank you for all of you who helped me out trying to fix this ... but SOMETIMES it's better off in the hands of someone more competent.
I'll likely be back at some point in the near future once i get this in my polysix in case there are other, hopefully smaller issues... but i learned a lot in the meantime too...
