You can also clean the contacts on the circuit board with some alcohol.  If things are really tough, gently use a pink pencil eraser.  You can try taking a small piece of foil/copper/etc. and press it down on the contacts.. see what happens.

Don’t forget that Bob Weigel at sounddoctorin.com still has some stick-on carbon dots for sale. Not cheap, but a lot less messy than painting conductive goop on the contacts, and they won’t crumble off.

Thanks. I've been looking at the schem. I assume the key scanning is working correctly. Eg the appegiator would not work. Is it very common for all key contacts to fail? Thanks again
