Subject: Re: [PolySix] just got a junker...

My recommendations:
a. you need to completely take the keyboard apart and clean it. No soldering required, just screwdrivers, patience and time.
b. swap out the battery-infected board with the kiwisix. The battery has inflicted damage even if it is not clearly visibly to you.

just got a rather bad shape poly 6 for $100.

1.  powers up.
2.  some keys sound.
3.  battery has not rotted.
4.  makes one sound and no pots work.
5.  all switches work/light up.

Insides look great, rear is SMASHED but intact.
Volume pot is shot, (need to press down on it to make it work)

Questions:

FACT:  I am unskilled at soldering past a high school level.

My thought was to order a factory battery because I cant jumper diodes and voltages on the charging mod on the coin slot lithium battery mod.

My thoughts were to attempt fixezs on the basic level.

If I cant get it working perfect then start desoldering the chips and sell them after I test they work.
