Hi, aprox & List!

You didn't mention if your Polysix has the absolutely-necessary battery
replacement/modification. If not, or if you aren't sure, Open Up Your
Polysix IMMEDIATELY, and make SURE that the original battery is gone,
and that there's no leakage in the surrounding area of the PC board
(second board from the left, on the case bottom). You should unscrew
the board from its standoffs, and Carefully, Meticulously examine all
the nearby traces, pads, and component legs for any sign of corrosion.
Gently wiggling the components may help you find any breaks due to
corrosion. The battery HAS to go - There are instructions on the web
(address in this group's files, I'm sure) from Scott Rider, detailing
battery replacement, complete with illustrations.

There used to be a .WAV file of the two original Polysix factory
patches on one of these groups ("Polysix 'digiest'?"), where you can
just "play" the WAV file into the P-6's memory.

Hope all this helps, and Best of Luck with all your equipment. The
Polysix is a ∗wonderful∗ synth; it's just that damned battery thing...
;-)

P-6-ically Yours,
Dave Garfield, Polysix(& Mono/Poly)-Head
