Hi All,
I'm thinking that I now need a case for my Polysix, as well. The key challenge is finding one that is the right size, especially one that is tall enough.
The Polysix's service manual says that the dimensions are 980mm x 373 x 132, which for those of us in the USA are 38.6" x 14.7" by 5.2". That 5.2" (132mm) value takes some cases out of contention.
For context, I'm not going on tour. I just want to protect the synth as I pile my instruments into my car for travel to music parties. I would like to stack two synths on top of each other in my car, so a cheap gig bag definitely seems like too little protection.
Given that I'm not interested in spending $300+ on a case, I've found 3 options on Sweetwater that seem to provide more protection than a gig bag and that seem to meet the required dimensions:
Gator GK-61 ($150), Semi-Rigid with zippers and wheels
Gator GKPE-61 ($289), Rigid with latches and wheels
SKB 1SKB-R4215W ($260), Rigid with latches and wheels
I clearly like the $150 better than the $260+, but maybe the semi-rigid $150 case provides too little protection. Does anyone have experience with these cases? Are they good/bad? Have I missed any options?
Thanks,
Chip
