Subject: P6 keyboard repair

hi guys,

i'm new to the group... i've looked in the archives,
but didn't find an answer to this question, so here
goes-

i have a polysix that i've replaced the battery and
repaired the board around the battery. all the
funtions work perfectly except for the keyboard. all
the contacts work when i take it apart and press the
grey rubber thingies with my fingers, but when i put
the keys back together, some keys work, others don't.
you have to press really hard on some of the keys.
some that do work, sometimes take a fraction of a
second to kick in... i've tried cleaning the contacts
several times, and i've even stuffed felt in some of
the grey rubber things to make the keys have more
pressure on the contacts, but it still doesn't play
properly.
as it is, i can hold notes and use the synth as a
noisemaker (which is fun), but i can't really play it
too much...

are there any tricks i can try? i guess i could
replace the keyboard, but i'm sure it would be
difficult finding one that works, and i really don't
want to spend much money on it...

any help is appreciated!

thanks- roy
