Hello all,
Thanks to all of your previous posts, schematics, and advice, I now
have my Polysix working at about 99%. The latest problem with the
keyboard not holding its memory and drawing too much current from the
backup battery has been solved with the replacement of IC 32, the
SRAM (thanks to Stefan and Old Crow's suggestions). There are still a
couple of small issues, however, that I am curious about.
1) When I turn the SPEED/INTENSITY knob of the effects it seems to
change the filter cut-off, even when the effect is turned off.
Turning the cut-off control gives me the same sound. Is this normal?
2) Setting the MG MODE switch to VCA has no effect. In other words, I
am able to get VCO (vibrato) and VCF (filter sweep), but no VCA
(tremolo).
I rang out all of the lines associated with this control and have
turned up nothing. Maybe I missed something. All of the other control
problems were remedied by repairing traces on the KLM-367 board, but
this one eludes me. All of the other functions operate perfectly,
though, and I am very happy with the sounds I am getting. I can see
why everyone likes this keyboard so much. It's a blast to fool around
with. Take care. ~JIM
