I've compared my real to VST. A lot of settings are way off. I have 2 real polysix's and they are both different (slightly) to each other and both way off with the mapping to software. I think the tolerance is too variable to make it worthwhile, it's always going to be easier to just put them based on your real panel settings then tweak to get them closer imo. Having said that, I found the sounds that were close to the P6 still lacked in overall tone/depth.

Subject: [PolySix] Re: Anyone here have the original Korg MIDI retrofit?
Seems like there's a lot of 'work' ;>) involved in entering all the patch chart values in, and then trying to tweak them to get near the original, if possible. There are a few patches that come with the Legacy softsynth that seem relatively close to the original P6 sounds - like the Wurly and some of the string pads, and then there are some that aren't...
It would be nice if there was a convertor that could be used as a starting point to generate values from MIDI'd P6's patch dumps, that then control MIDI CC-learned parameters on the Legacy. There may be issues with linear / non-linear pot tapers, and other 'calibration' mismatches...but it could be a fun project. Just wondering if anyone has attempted such a digital conversion. -Brian
