the arp in the p6 isn't and doesn't have any sort of sequencer in it therefore (as far as I'm concerned) it doesn't need ∗any∗ sort of clock signal. when it gets a signal, it steps to the next note in sequence (up/down/updown). Give the trigger in an electric signal, and it will step. The manual states whether it is a going low voltage or a going high voltage. take the output of any of your keyboards or drum machines and plug it in there. now hit a key. nothing? crank up the volume and try again. try a kick drum sound, try a snare, try a stick click or something. if ∗nothing∗ works, you might have to make a special cable that reverses the polarity.
actually, a regular clock signal would probably just make the arp step really fast.
if I'm wrong, somebody will probably step up to the podium and set the facts straight.. we'll see....
