Yes, of course, the alcohol wouldn't be good on the rubber. I've cleaned all the gold contacts with denatured alcohol and will probably clean again before putting everything back together. The rubber pads have been cleaned with distilled water and Dawn dish soap. I've got a MG Chemicals rubber repair kit--that I've used successfully in the past on a different keyboard--waiting in the wings.
