Hi all,

Thanks for all the emails. It's good to see the range of interest and the varying needs that would have to be met to make this successful.

Andy makes some very good points regarding parts that are either difficult or impossible to attain and the relative interest in an assembled and tested solution versus bare boards.

I don't have answers yet. My thought is that there might be a middle path.

If it were possible to both offer boards and a parts kit at a reasonable price, those that don't want to do the assembly and calibration could take it to a local tech for the finish work.

Nothing is going to happen overnight with this, though there appears to be a strong base level of support. Whether it is enough to make this viable isn't really possible to tell until I answer some questions about parts and midi functionality.

I'll be talking to some electrical engineer friends of mine to get their thoughts and expertise involved.

Andy, I may also give you a call offline. I assume I can reach you through your website...

Thanks for the comments everyone. I'll be in touch as things develop. Since I'll be doing this in my "spare" time it is going to take a while. But since we are working on a thirty-year old product what's a few months here or there, right?

Thanks again,

Jed
