Subject: This is the solution to most tuning problems

Hi all,

I keep seeing messages posted regarding tuning etc. I can pretty much
promise you all that this is caused by the opto on the KLM366.
Within the last year I have repaired 5 pcb's all suffering from the
same problem, ie tuning C6 is ok but when you line up C2 to be at the
correct pitch , the octaves are not correct. I've also see units that
play an octave over 11 notes C2-B3, not enough range on the pots to
tune up just to name the common ones. From now I dont even bother
trying to tune a P6 without swapping the opto as you will most likely
be wasting yourtime. If you need a pdf copy of the service manual email
me at ibradshaw@btconnect.com also if you need any tips let me know.

I have really spent a lot of time last summer figuring how these units
tick and learnt just about everything I could. I've worked
professionally (if that's how you spell it!) repairing synths over the
last 18 years and specialise in Korg, Ensoniq, Kurzweil and Alesis
