Subject: Broken Oscillator (update)?

From: "mhoehn303" <mhoehn303@yahoo.de>

Here's a little update on my Polysick:

The out-of-tune oscillator even plays lower notes when set to 4'. But
even when set to 8', with LFO on the VCO, on certain notes one can
clearly hear the upper part of the LFO wave. So this oscillator might
be just horribly out of tune, with the lower notes being too low to
actually play (at least at 16' and 8').

I just found Old Crow's "Tips for repairing vintage synthesizers"
(never seen this page before, altough I've used his really great
battery replacement guide) at
hhttp://www.oldcrows.net/~oldcrow/synth/tips.txt. And this made me
want to replace all the old capacitors with new ones. Perhaps an
insane job, because that would be a LOT of work. But on the other hand
the Polysix should be less prone to errors in the future, if done
properly. And with a little luck it might even help my dodgy
oscillator. I think I will start with the power supply and the voice
board.

Oh and I have found the problem with the battery replacement. It works
now. Big thanks to Old Crow! :)
