It all works now!!! WOW. Many thanks to Olaf for emailing me some
tips - it was the output/input volume, my levels were too high. I
checked them in Adobe Audition and they looked right in the middle to
acceptable, but lowering it a bit made all the difference.
I combined my favorites from eight or so different banks, I converted
all of them to P6 format and named them - thanks to all of the people
over the years who have shared thier WAV patch dumps.. My bank is
mostly C64 video game style sounds and 80's nostalgic pads and leads
and tons of SFX, spacey sounds, a few basses etc. I think the Polysix
shines in this area personally. Once I get the right mix of them i'll
share my bank, thanks again for all your help.
Oh and also, thanks to the Old Crow for repairing my KLM power board!
Funny thing - the day after putting the board back in and playing
around, my 30 pound cat jumped on the keyboard (it wasn't on a stand,
it was on a chair balancing) and the cat knocked it over, which
dragged the top across a desk bottom breaking THREE of the program
button tops off!! URGHJ!!!
The buttons work fine. Can I just replace the tops? I'm cursed with
this thing, I swear.
