When I turn it on, my sounds sound a little more growly then they used to,
if you depress the keys for more than 2 seconds it begins to modulate the
sound like as if I had turned the mod wheel all the way up. Then some of
the patches don't even work, they just sort of "click".
I just went out to radio shack on my way home from work to get the battery
holder, and they didn't have one. I guess if I get a 3.6v battery and
holder it would work too, I just need to know the direction of the pins if I
use a different part.

board....
As I said, first step is to remove the battery, check if you got a few
traces that look more "black" than the others, and rewire them if
necessary. It won't necessarily solve the problem, but you have to go
step by step (elimination) many times. How does it exactly behave ?
Please provide as many details as you can.
