Hi:
I have a FATMAN (I have built 3 so far) and also built:
9700 Paia Midi-CV interface
Vocoder (built 2 of these)
Submix Master
Lots of 4700 modules
rebuilds of old modules
I have the Paia 9700 VCO but havent built it yet. It is next on my list but I am reworking my studio right now.
BTW if you make the FATMAN do some of the mods that are out there- some are really quick and easy.
The Paia is great if money is short. I have not built any MOTM for that reason.
However if money is not a problem the MOTMs have a very nice reputation, and seem to be well designed and high quality.
Also I like the Blacet modules which are good auxillary modules. I have built the FREQUENCY DIVIDER and have the CHAOS too.
IF you need accuracy/high quality then go for the MOTM.
If you just want a good basic setup with lots of bang for the buck, then go for PAIA.
Personally I want some MOTM, but am a bit afraid of getting started because then I will want a bunch more :)

Unless you really want to use OLDSYNTH, please move to the new site so everyone is on the same list.

I took the plunge with a Paia Fatman and I am very happy with that decision. I thought that it was fun to put together. The sound is real and I use it constantly. I dont have any experience with MOTM so I could not say that the Fatman is better or not. But I sure like my Paia.

I'm at a similar decision betweeen Paia and MOTM ($$$ being my main
reasoning behind Paia) - have you taken the plunge with Paia and if
so , how did it go?
